Christmas Eve on Oahu. Last year this time it was so hot and actually some fun surf. This year the past week has been windy with 15-30mph gusts for the past 5-6 days and mix in some rain. The good news is that keeps the crowds down as you can see in the pictures. There were probably 8-10 of us total from Lighthouses to Cliffs out today.
There were actually some fun ones that you could get into. It was maybe waist high and when the wind died it was easier to get into. When the wind was going it was flat out hard to see. Still got a few and I was surfing in board shorts on Christmas Eve so I have 0 to complain about. Merry Christmas to everyone.
On a serious note:
Water saftey was out there asking us to keep our eyes open for a kite surfer that was in trouble. They were in the water as you can see and up on the lookout and two helicopters too. They said Kahala area and drifting to Diamond Head. Hoping all is well. If anyone knows an update would be great to hear:
